Frederick Chen, 11-year-old piano prodigy, has been collecting First Prize awards nationally and internationally. He generously agreed to play a benefit concert for Friends of Tahoe Music Alive.
An elite athlete and ski racer on the Palisades ski team, and prize winner at the recent Takamatsu International Concert Competition, Frederick will perform the Piano Masters in support of Tahoe Music Alive's outreach objectives, which provide for concert musicians to stay an extra day in North Tahoe for educational outreach.

We are extremely grateful to Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation through the Banzett Fund for Musical Arts, to the newly organized North Tahoe Chamber (TBID Dollars at Work), the Tahoe Truckee Airport Foundation, and Truckee Rotary for grants that allow Tahoe Music Alive to expand its presence and service.
Through its TBID Dollars at Work Program, the North Tahoe Chamber provided grants to Tahoe Music Alive for two concerts: May 4th Duo Violão Plus One, August 5th George Cables & "A-Team.
The Tahoe Truckee Airport Foundation grant ignited TMA’s outreach program, providing musical education to youth at Alder Creek Middle School, with a shared vision for the importance of arts in the lives of students and its contribution to STEAM education.
The grant from the Banzett Fund for Musical Arts sponsored the Insight Chamber Players concert.
The grant from Truckee Rotary has provided essential equipment for guest musicians.
